Sonic movie 3 spoiler warning!

Gerald: Oh, Ivo. You’re no Maria.

Can I just say this? This has to be the most gut-wrenching and evilest line I heard in the entire movie. Heck let alone the entire SCU (Sonic Cinematic Universe) thus.

It also goes to show that unlike what Shadow and Sonic experience, Gerald’s vengeance goes beyond that. No questioning or hesitating on it like Shadow did, or snapping out of it like Sonic did when being given hints on what he’s been taught back (Shadow pointing at his heart, reflecting back to Tom’s teaching).

Gerald is in pure vengeance. So much, he disregards everything else. His grandson, to him, means nothing to him, cause he is nothing compared to the granddaughter he lost. Only using him to benefit his plan, along with thinking that Ivo would go along with it cause he has “no one”.

Shadow, who he once saw as a child and a person, is now considered a weapon to him. Someone he can wield by attempting to continue fueling his anger and hatred. He is willing to manipulate Shadow, even when Shadow gave a hint that maybe, just maybe this isn’t what Maria would have wanted.

And when Shadow turns against his plan, he sees no use for him anymore. Nothing but someone standing in his way from annihilating all life. And not to mention. He was willing to kill his own grandson if it meant fulfilling his revenge.

What was once a gentle and caring scientist became someone that is so filled with vengeance that he went insane. He became nothing more than a tragic heartless evil monster who wanted it all to end.

actually my worst nightmare about s5 would be watching other people’s fav characters (Will, Mike, Steve, Nancy, Eleven etc.) get successful storylines, while us max and billy stans will have to sit through all that having no closure between them whatsoever. You know, like… they will defeat vecna with the power of friendship or something and max will wake up and magically want to live without ever meeting billy again, not even in vecna’s mind. So they will mever mention him at all, because really? That storyline is old news, come on, she is not grieving over THAT anymore, duh?? and everyone will get their happy ending, with no one from the main cast dead, while billy will remain forgotten forever. because he did not deserve to be saved. not his body, and not his soul.
